Layla Ceramic Effect 52 a.k.a. The Butterfly Effect

Here's a swatch on Layla Ceramic Effect 52. For those of you who don't know, the Layla Ceramic Effect line states that no base or top coat is needed for this polish to look shiny like...you got it...ceramic.

I loved the deep purple and the suspended orange-to-green flakies of this polish so I had to try it out.

Below you will see two coats of this polish without top coat, three coats without top coat, and three coats with top coat all under artificial and natural light. Enjoy!

Connect-the-Mustache

Can you see the mustache? I used Ciaté Mojito and Barielle Grape Escape for the sponging, Essie Shine of the Times over that, and Orly Instant Artist Jet Black for the mustache. Note: I used Essie Marshmallow as a base so that the colors would be opaque but also light.

Lavalicious

I used Barielle Hidden Hideaway and Essie Shine of the Times. It glows red/orange and occasionally green. I could not stop looking at this! Most of the time the middle of each nail reflects orangey red and the sides reflect green...I think it's because of the curve of my nails.

Everyone should try layering a flakie polish like Shine of the Times over a dark polish just so they can experience this gorgeousness.

Soft Glitzy Pink

I create this soft pink and glitzy look, I painted two coats of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi and one coat each of Essie Shine of the Times and Nicole by OPI Here Kim's the Sun.

In the sunlight pictures, it looks like I have little bubbles in the pink but that is really Here Kim's the Sun. In the shade picture, Here Kim's the Sun is pretty much the only glitter that you see.

Tape Triangles 2.0

I hand painted a piece of regular Scotch Tape with Essie Secret Story and then let it dry a while back. I decided to cut triangles out of the tape and then apply it on top of the manicure I already had done.

Other polishes: SinfulColors Mint Apple and Rise and Shine and Essie Shine of the Times.

A Mint Apple Flakie

Here is SinfulColors Mint Apple and Essie Shine of the Times. It's the base of my current manicure that I keep adding to.

Also, here is my go-to mascara: CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume: Waterproof. And there are those Olympic rings. I can't wait to watch them!

Funny Little Design

I used Ulta Duty Free Shopping Spree, Essie Lapiz of Luxury and Shine of the Times. I called this a funny little design because I have never seen it before and I don't know what to call it. It was inspired by one of the dresses Ariel from Little Mermaid 2 wore and I entered it for a Mermaid contest on Instagram hosted by nic_tchelly.

I decided to show my entry picture as well.
